New Dictionary for the catalog won't save

I am just getting into this software, so this could be a user issue...
I am going through the tutorial, and when I try to add a text file for a dictionary - the hidden-nulls.txt or any other example, I am getting the error below. I'm definitely pointing to the right file. Help?!?!

Lisa

Sorry, I should have added that I have tried this on both Windows XP and Windows 7 platforms.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

This is an (unspecified, sorry) IO error that occurs when trying to read the file.

This could be a lot of things - try checking that the file is actually readable by your user (permissions?), that it's not in use and locked by another application or such.

Hi,

I also get the same issue. Checked security on the file: Full Control access, and there is no other application currently accessing the file. I tried a different location, as well as deleting all but 2 lines from the file. Still no success yet.

Thanks
Pieter

I got the same problem. Also tried Win7 WinXP and even Ubuntu.
The author has to realize this kind of error is unacceptable in 1.5.3 version!

Maros - Try posting a ticket/bug on our bugtracker and attach the files that fail to be read by DC.

If "the author" cannot reproduce the problem then it's hard to "realize" what is going on. Furthermore you should realize that you are using free software which depends on your interaction with a community to fix problems... Cuz' I'm guessing that you don't want to pay me to fix it for you...?

Hi everybody ... Can you check out the new version of DataCleaner (1.5.4) ... I believe that this bug is fixed now!
