Data Cleaner Open File Issue

I loaded an excel file into a file folder but when I OPEN FILE in Data Cleaner I cannot see the excel spreadsheet to do the analysis. I know the excel spreadsheet is in the folder but for some reason Data Cleaner cannot see it.Can anyone help me here?

Are you sure that the excel file is an .xls? DataCleaner cannot read the new xlsx Excel 2008 (or whatever, I cannot remember) format.

Kasper- that then is the issue. I utilize Microsoft Excel 2007 but the format is in an xlsx format. Hopefully this is the issue. Thanks for the update. Very much appreciated.

I read that microsoft had made a contribution to the Apache POI project making ooxml formats available. I will try to look into if this can be fixed just by updating the jar file
