Hi,

To my knowledge DC should run well on Vista. At least I tried it some months ago without problems but I don't have a Vista machine available right now to double-check.

Maybe it's a problem pertaining to the actual job you're executing? Can you run a simple profile (for example a Standard Analysis) on some of the sample database tables?

Kasper, thanks for your reply. Tomorrow I will try some other options. If it works for you, it should work for me

OK - please let us know if it's causing problems ... It shouldn't be hanging just when the result window shows up ...

To clarify:
Initially DC will do a simple "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM your_table" in order to get information to the progress bars. If for some reason this COUNT-query should take a lot of time then the window will be hanging for a few moments but I would not expect that from such a simple query.

point is that I use files as source and no databases. Value distribution is my most used option. This opens the screen where the progress is seen, but than it stops. I can shut down or select other profles, bet no respons. The selected file opens in preview mode, odd enough.

Hmm should work anyhow...

How large is your file? The COUNT-query will be still be run even though it's a file but just interpreted as a "read lines in the CSV" for your particular datastore-type. Basically DC should be able to handle almost any size but still I'm curious.

Did you try with the sample database? You can find it if you select "Open database" and then pick it from the "named connections" dropdown...
