Data cleaner 1.5 Command line interface - Usage doubts
Hi,
I have found the data cleaner very useful while using the desktop interface. It is pretty useful to find the errors in data as well as ambiguities in them quite too easily. But I found that the support you have gave for the usage of command line interface is pretty ordinary. I am not sure if I am not understanding the details correctly. My point is that you could include some examples in the user guide for the usage of command line interface, such that I could use the product from a command perspective for some purposes. Or if it is already specified in some file, let me know.

Hi itssubbuhere,
Did you have a look at the 1.5 documentation? There's a whole section on the Command-Line interface (section 5):
http://datacleaner.eobjects.org/resources/docs/1.5.x/
Should be pretty straight forward.

Thanks a lot Kasper for the help. It did really work.
Now I am facing a problem, in fact an exception gets thrown in my Linux command line interface which is like this:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
at dk.eobjects.datacleaner.gui.GuiHelper.showErrorMessage(GuiHelper.java:252)
at dk.eobjects.datacleaner.gui.setup.GuiSettings.getSettings(GuiSettings.java:236)
at dk.eobjects.datacleaner.gui.setup.GuiSettings.initialize(GuiSettings.java:100)
at dk.eobjects.datacleaner.gui.DataCleanerCli.initialize(DataCleanerCli.java:191)
at dk.eobjects.datacleaner.gui.DataCleanerCli.main(DataCleanerCli.java:278)
Seems that the GUI is missing on this. Can you please help me out regarding this?

Glad that it helped but I guess the error is also kind of a blocker?
I can't say much about the error you get, except that it's because it's having trouble reading the settings file (datacleaner-settings.data)...
Also, maybe you're interested in upgrading to 2.x? If so check out this discussion on how to use an (early stage) Command Line interface for DC 2.x here: http://datacleaner.eobjects.org/topic/184/Datacleaner-with-command-line.

Kasper,
Yes this indeed is kind of a blocker. Another thing came to my mind is that can we use the same datacleaner-settings.data file that we use in Windows for Linux?

Kasper,
Can you please provide me with a datacleaner-settings.data file which has a oracle jdbc connection settings installed on it. Seems that the file which I used for windows is not working in the Linux machine.

I don't have such a file. What you can do is simply delete the file and then start up DataCleaner again. It will then get a cleared settings file where you can install the driver.
