Example : order_dates.analysis.xml

I've just pried this open to see if it'll meet our needs (Talend OP didn't).

When trying to open the order_date.analysis.xml job listed under EXAMPLES, I get an illegalStateException: No such analyzer descriptor: Phonetic similarity finder. Did I fail to download/install a plugin or something?

I'll have a go at the other examples and see what they give up in terms of functionality..

Is there a more *complete* set of docs than the 2.2 I downloaded? Seems there is a few sections in progress..

Is there documentation from an earlier version that is close enough to 2.2 to learn/work from?

I'd be happy to help with the docs if I can understand how to use the tool :>)

TIA,
Mark

Hi Mark,

You face the exception since the job uses the phonetic similarity extension which it appears is not yet applied to your Data Cleaner instance. You can install extensions in below 2 ways: -

1. Install automatically from DC
In Data Cleaner go to Tab Windows -> Options -> Extensions Tab. Click Add Extension Package -> Choose Browse the extensionswap -> From the extension swap select your desired extension -> Click Install and then the extension will be applied to your running DC instance.

2. Adding extension JAR manually: -
You should download the Phonetic Similarity extension from http://datacleaner.eobjects.org/extensions, save it locally and then in Data Cleaner go to Tab Windows -> Options -> Extensions Tab. Click Add Extension Package -> Manually Install Jar -> Point to the extension jar downloaded.

Now if you reload the job it should run fine.

Within the week we would be releasing Data Cleaner v2.3.

Ankit

Hi Mark and Ankit,

As Ankit mentioned, we will in deed release a new version of DataCleaner in just a few days. Because of this we are actually able to accomodate your request for more documentation right away. The documentation for the new release has a lot of improvements, but of course you may also see a few items in there that is not available in 2.2.

But nevertheless, here's links for the updated documentation, enjoy!
