Problem with Oracle Login ???

Hi,

just tried to set up a new Oracle connection and noticed, that in the setup screen there is no entry presented/available for password.

Of course Data Cleaner says then "could not establish JDBC connection - ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied"

What to do now ?

Best regards,
Christian

Hi Christian,

Ouch that one looks bad. On my screen the password field IS visible, but I think it might be an issue related to the layout which only shows up on some platforms.

First workaround: Configure the datastore using conf.xml. There are some examples in the (new :)) documentation!

Action for the developers: I will add a high priority bugfix task about this!

Thank you for getting back to us on this issue, I hope to have a fix for you soon!

Hi Christian,

I haven't heard of anyone else with this issue still. Do you have any updates for me? Did you try it on different Java installations? Or different machines?

I've created this ticket for the issue:
http://eobjects.org/trac/ticket/706

But still I have not had success in recreating it.

Hi Kasper,

sorry, but had no time yet to check it into detail (due to some other business priorities). But this problem is not only on my PC.
A colleague contacted me having the same problem.

I think tomorrow I have time to install the latest Java Runtime and will check it again.

Best regards,
Christian

Hi again,

did not forget, but unfortunatelly my local administrator privilege has been deactivated by mistake (you'll remember, we have a very strong IT-security in our company).

So I had to restart the process again to get my local administrator back. And this takes some time.

And before I can do some further checks and tests (e.g.: a new Java installation) I need the administrator privileges first.

Best regards,
Christian
