In developing metamodel, did you take JSR 40 JMI into consideration ?
I just stumbled upon SAP CWM java impl and though on metamodel.

Hi Asbjorn,
I did look at it briefly, but from what I can recon it's way more abstract than metamodel in the way that the API is put together. CWM is another deal and there actually is an (unplanned) ticket in the roadmap to make some sort of CWM compatibility, but I don't think that the use-case is that clear.
